Memory loss and tiredness...

Sat, 02/04/2017 - 18:21
Hi, I'm 22 years old and have had temporal lobe epilepsy since I was 15. For most of the years I've been pretty unreliable with taking my medication (I'm on Keppra) Once I first stop taking them it takes a few months before I start having regular seizures i'll then take them for a few weeks and stop again until the seizures come back. Really stupid I know its not on purpose just never gotten used to having to take meds everyday. So I've recently started a full time job 12hr shifts full time. And I'm now noticing just how bad my memory is and how much sleep I need, I'm struggling everyday to get into work I'm pretty much late 70% of the time because i'm so tired in the morning I just cant get up! And when it comes to my memory its appalling, I will be asked to do something and completely forget and not normal slipped my mind forgetting, the I have no recollection of ever being told or asked to do it, its like its been wiped from my memory altogether. I know having seizures effects memory (I have no recollection of anything from the age of 15 when I was first diagnosed) but right now i'm not having seizures well that i'm aware of so is this normal, does anyone else experience anything similar? to have such a terrible short term memory and needing so much sleep even when having no seizures???
