MED. ALERT BRACLETS?????

Mon, 09/10/2007 - 23:10
I have been told over the last couple of months that I should look into getting a med. alert braclet. I have searched on-line a little bit and found a couple of sites. My question is this...... Is there a site that offers braclets that don't scream "I AM SICK"????? But I also have found ones that look so much like a regular beaded braclet that if it was turned the wrong way no one would know to look at it. Is there a middle ground that anyone knows of? Somewhere that offers style and a reasonable price? How about advice on what to put on it? Meds. are changing so much right now that they can't be included. Any good ideas? Thanks In Advance

The most fashionable "non-screaming" ones can be found on N-Style ID.  They range in prices.  The most expensive are 14k gold with diamonds.

 Check it out.

court b- I have been searching for a medical alert bracelet for my daugther and I was thinking the same thing, there are the typical bracelets that I know when she gets older she won't want to wear, then there are the beaded ones that I was worried about might not let EMT's know right away that it's a medical alert bracelet... so I asked one of our local EMT's and he told me that they have been trained to look at all jewelry regardless of how it looks, necklaces/bracelets... since the styles have changed, so has the training that they have received. Now I am sure there are cases where others have encountered that the bracelets were overlooked or what not but I think that's the case no matter what it looks like. I have found a few good sites, depending on what you are looking for.... another good thing to do, is if you carry a cellphone put a contact in there with the title ICE (In Case of Emergency) you can put a number (like a parents/spouse/whoever) and also in the lines that are available put seizure disorder or whatever else... just a thought. http://www.laurenshope.com/shop.aspx http://www.n-styleid.com/medical_charms.htm http://www.stickyj.com/medical-emergency.html Hope this helps. Those sites are just a few that I have looked at. I can't remember which one, of those was alot cheaper than others I have looked at when it comes to cost and also engraving. The EMT that I spoke with said to have on there the medical condition that is of concern, along with allergies if there is room. If not, just atleast the condition. I know there is a medical alert bracelet company that will provide a 1800 number on the bracelet it's self and for the cost of $30 a year I think, the EMT's/Police/whoever... can call it and get whatever health conditions, medication that you take and an emergency contact. I can't think of the name of the company that provides it but I am sure you can google it, or someone on here can tell you. Take care, hope I helped. Emily

They are all over the place, just type Medical ID Bracelet into a search engine such as Dogpile and look around. I want to get one that stops people from calling for the $1000 ride to the hospital for Dr's to charge me a couple of grand more only to tell me I just had a seizure.
