Lost, scared, confused...

So for the first time in about five years maybe eight, I had one of my funny panic attacks. Where I hear and see stuff that's from a dream, that I don't think I ever had all well I'm aware what is truly going on around me at the same time and then my heart started pounding and the real Panic starts. In my foolish wisdom I Google searched it and they came to this website and I'm reading all of these people who have gone through this panic attack before and it's epilepsy apparently. I'm going to my doctor this week to see if I could be diagnosed. I think I may have temporal lobe epilepsy since I read the first post I did nothing but cry because I'm not alone. Actually right now I'm sitting in my car crying as I write this. I don't know what to do.

Hi, HarleyGirl.I.m older than you and have had left temporal lobe epilepsy since I was about 6, not formally diagnosed until age 15. I was relieved, like you. My parents didn't want anyone to know because of the attached stigma at that time. But since the bullying was so bad in High Scool a friend announced in class I had epilepsy. The bullying stopped and there was more curiosity. My parents were angry, but I wasn't. I was relieved. The waking dream state is something I have also lived with all my life. You aren't crazy, lol. Perhaps a good book for you to read about TLE is SEIZED by Eve LaPlant. My epilepsy, at 60, is now complex partial and, neurologically speaking, has spread. I had one Tonic Clonic about 6-7 years ago and came close two others due to stress. I am medication sensitive, so I have been on the same medication for over 40 years... with 2-7-10 year periods of not taking any medication due to low stress.Diet, sleep, exercise, and distressing through deep breathing and meditation or prayer will make Big differences.
