I have just been informed that i am going to lose my job for sure. Have been dealing with for a long time and i am dealing with all the fun emotions that go along with epilepsy. Did not have a great childhood either so i have all that baggage also. I will be able to overcome but i know some rough days may be ahead. If any suggestions on finding help it will be greatly appreciated.

I am sorry to hear that you are having to deal with this. I know it must be hard. I am almost sure that I will be going through this in the next few months. I am just not able to handle the city's money, taxes, grants, etc. I can tell they are getting annoyed by me not remembering things and not being able to comprehend things just right. Good luck to you. I can't really give any advice, except to try and keep your head up and know you are not alone. You can email me anytime.

Although I agree with the fact that you cannot be let go for having E. My experience was that they could let you go with 2 weeks notice, in any case. Unless you are a Union member you do not have rights, unless you sue. I live in Vancouver, Canada and spoke to the human rights and business practices and they felt sorry that this happened but the employer can indeed let you go without reason if they give you 2 weeks notice/pay. I was working in a child after school education center with special needs children and the boss did not feel even though I had only 1 Grand Mal in my sleep, that this would be appropriate (I had great rapport with the students and parents). I didn't even get a chance to explain and did not wish to work with her after her lack of understanding but it still angers me that there are no rights for medical issues unless you sue. Perhaps it is different in the States but this was my experience and I am still not working. Rita
