Living with someone with epilepsy.

Hello everyone. My 17 year old has epilepsy and I'm concerned that she would have seizures in her sleep. She has her own room and sleeps alone. Does anyone have any suggestions besides me getting up 10 or more times a night to check on her?

I have epilepsy and on

I have epilepsy and on occasion have tonic clonic (grandmal) seizures in my sleep. While my husband was in nursing school and stayed up all hours of the night studying, he bought a 2-way baby monitor. That way he could listen for me while I was sleeping at the other end of the house. And without have to jump up and run into our room at any odd noise, he could talk into the monitor and ask if I was OK.. And I could respond. This gave us both piece of mind

I haven't asked her doctor

I haven't asked her doctor but I will. She had been seizure free for at least 2 years until a couple of nights ago.
