Living with half my tongue.

My name is Weston. I'm a 30 year old male from New Mexico. I have had epilepsy all my life and it has been somewhat a manageable condition for me. Recently I had 8 grand mals in one day. I came to in the emergency room and had bit off half my tongue. I don't know why but it really messed up my head. I have been suicidal since. I was told that could be because the anti-seizure medication didn't play well with my regular medication. These feelings are very not like me but I haven't been able to shake them. I'm looking for advise on how to deal with my loss of my tongue. I can't stop grinding and clenching my teeth. Also I'm looking for advise on how to ride out a bad medication and not do anything stupid. I know that these feelings are chemically induced and should go away soon, but they come on overwhelmingly and often. If anyone has had this happen to them please advise me.

The first person you need to

The first person you need to talk to is your neurologist. a medication you have been taking may have a side effect that is a legitimate side effect. If it is off it could also be a big part of your seizure increase and the strength of them. So start thereFor me I have always contacted Doc and his assistant could answer many questions. But there were several times he called me back and we discussed the issue. W knew adjustments needed to be made since I had gone 3 years with very few focal seizures. Then I was hit with a generalized focal seizure. It kept me from getting to my brothers wedding since the burns started about the middle of my jeans pocket and went down to my knee. 3rd degree. That happened back in 74 and I still have some of the scaring. So start by calling your neurologist. He will know more and can make adjustments ot medication changes and get then started within a day or so.
