Lamictal

Tue, 07/03/2007 - 23:40
Does anyone have problems with Lamictal? I find myself getting double vision and so dizzy that I have to lay down where ever I'm at. It seems to be worse then some of my seizures.

I get similar side effects. This must be common with Lamictal because I have read about and posted about this in other threads. I called my Dr about it, and he said this was common with Lamictal and I would get used to it. I'm still waiting.

Seruzies, get used to it? I think not, might subside, maybe. As I told Howard get your levels checked, lamictal builds in you system. My epi's goal with my meds has always been, the best control possible with the least possible side effects. Talk to your pharmacist too and maybe think about a new doc. Believe me, being toxic on a med is horrible and only gets worse.

Thanks for the reply Colina, I think my Neuro is trying many different meds on me right now because my seizure control has been lousy. It might be part of my depression that's giving me lousy control. I used to only take 200mgs of Dilantin twice a day, and had great conrtol, but my job and living situation was a hell of a lot better then too. I'm living in a cold climate stuck inside all the time and used to work outside in the sun all day. 100 degrees plus, and I lived for it. If not for my E and money, I would still be there, working, and NOT on disability.
