After around 15 years suffering temporal lobe epilepsy, I'm starting to feel like a real idiot. I have 2 or three episodes a year with nocturnal seizures and I think my life style may have been somewhat to blame. I've kinda been trying to forget about it in between and living a normal life with a few drinks on the weekend. I don't know if its so much that I still drink, but more that occasionally it leads to a late night and not catching up on that sleep. Upon really digging deep into my types of seizures, "triggers" that may be avoided, and general overall health,I think it might be time for me to tidy up on a few things. I reckon focusing on being as healthy as you can is probably a major part of managing epilepsy. I know I have to at least cut down how much I drink and don't let it interfere with enough sleep. Does anyone have any opinions on alcohol in moderation. At two or 3 episodes a year, I guess a few drinks hasn't hugely affected me. I think being over tired has set me off though.
