Job and memory problems

Fri, 04/24/2015 - 21:17

Hi

I know many of us have some level of memory loss becacuse of medication or seizures. I graduated from college, I have a degree in Marketing. Two years ago, I  went back to college and obtanied an associated degree. My resume looks nice by saying that I have too degrees. I studied hard trying to remember everything, and many times I had to study all over again because I forgot what I just studied. It seams that I made the effort to go to college for nothing. I found a job recently, and my memory is affecting my confidence and my performance. I just forget things, and I feel that my coworkers laugh about it. The company and my coworkes do not know that I have epilepsy. If the company knew they would have not hired me.  My memory is so bad. My question is have you decided to quit your job because of memory problems? Have you been fired because your lack of memory affected your work? I am in a crossroads right now, I want to quit my job because I can not stand the fact that I forget simple tasks. On the other hand, I am scared of being jobless, and I am afraid every day that my boss is going to fired me. Somebody suggested me that I should get a job that is repetitive that does not that difficult, and I do not know if I will be able to pay my bills if I find a job like that. I am terrifed, and anxious. I appreciate your suggestions. Thank you

Pretty sure I was just fired

Pretty sure I was just fired for memory loss. I graduated college in 2017 and took on a job last year that involved educating kids and giving them tours. Work noticed I was getting lost on the trails after two weeks of training and couldn't remember the names of kids that told me their names 5 minutes ago, they told me "I wasn't a good fit for the position" and I should leave. So, now I'm washing dishes for a college campus and hopefully that sticks.

My memory is rubbish, the

My memory is rubbish, the last job I had I gave up for 2 reasons, 1 being my poor memory and the fact that I was a rapid response carer which had a lot of responsibility for medication administration in the clients, I also couldn't remember where people lived , I was scared that I was going to do something seriously wrong, the other reason was that I had a breakdown due to the pressure of the job
