I was diagnosed with epilepsy when I was 18 years old I'm 30 now. I have grand mal seizures and I always have an aura before I have one. My seizures are partly controlled but I still have them. Has anyone else had this happen to them ?

You need to contact your neurologist. Auras are actually seizures themselves. I had auras and didn't have grand mal seizures. I also had other seizures which were over looked because I didn't mentions them. I was being written up for day dreaming in class. Those day dreams were seizures. I was asked a questions and since I didn't answer right away the teacher would ask another student and as they were giving the answer I would give mine. If you are having more auras without a bad seizure then you may have other seizures which are different, Possiable absence seizures or partial seizures. A person can have more then one kind of seizure and one type of epilepsy. I hope this helps and you get the assistance you need. Joe
