Is it true?

Tue, 01/02/2007 - 18:50
Can someone tell me if it is true that going on an AED can alter your seizure type? for example, I am unmedicated with simple partials. If I start on an AED can I change and get tonic clonic seizures?

My experience it that AED's can alter your seizures. While I was on Topamax my siezures that start in my hands or feet wnet away almost completely. But..... my olfactory seizures where smell rotten eggs and get a metallic taste in my mouth came on strong and occurred every day. I am not on Lamictal now and although it doesn't completely stop my seizures (simple partial) it doesn't seem to cause other types of seizures.
