Is it cardiac or neurological?

Mon, 01/12/2015 - 16:59

Hi all. Thanks in advance for reading my post.

Since Oct. 2014, I've had terrible symptoms that are seemingly strange. I am a 21 year old female, small fame, fit figure. I'm in college, was studying psych/neuroscience but switched to studio art because the symptoms are actually affecting my ability to handle stress. And I love art.

I eat fairly well, keep electrolytes up, and drink V8 to get more vitamins. My daily symptoms include high heart rate (treated with Verapamil currently), terrible brain fog, my legs fall asleep, I go into a weird lul at 3:00 everyday and it goes away on it's own, when I get too cold or hot I shake uncontrollably, and I'm unable to concentrate on things for a long period of time. I have anxiety and see a therapist for it. I've been to the ER 3 times for this. I've had my thyroid checked, EKG, echocardiogram, stress test, metabolic panel, lung CT for tumors, everything comes back clear.

The only medication I take is Verapamil to treat high pulse (given by a primacy care doctor). The focus has always been cardiac, but I have a sister with epilepsy, and we both think that my issue is more neurological. And has a former psych/neuro student, it kind of makes sense.

Has anyone had similar symptoms with epilepsy? I want to do some research before approaching my doctor with another could-be diagnosis. I'm very on top of this with my primary care, and she appreciates it when I approach her with ideas. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Morning and welcome. You posted If you haven't already checked the side effects of the medication you posted. I did that and some of the things bothering you are side effects and one of them is a rare side effect. I hope this helps and you get the assistance you need
