Issue with having a dominant side

Sat, 03/17/2007 - 20:24
I have complex partial seizures (also might be partial seizures involved too but still not sure) and both my right & left temporal lobes are affected with my condtion which my neurologist tells me isn't very common, most people have only the left or right side affected? I am just wondering if anybody else has an issue with having a dominant side with their epilepsy. Like one side of the body being favored over the other side? This has been happening to me for a while now & things are becoming tough for me because my body seems to favor use of my left side over my right side (for example: like when walking down the stairs my left side always has to go first unless I really make the right side go first & then I feel totally off balance that way) I recently fractured my left toe & I am unable to use crutches because I am unable to balance at all without the use of my left side of body. Things like that happen with me. My neurologist has told me that alot of times when both sides of the brain is affected that one of the sides of the body becomes more dominant & you experience the symptoms that I am experiencing. Anybody have any info on that?? Thanks!
