Industrial Careers and Epilepsy

Tue, 07/12/2016 - 18:44
I have been considering a new career and am planning to go back to college to learn a trade. I am wanting to enter a career where there is a demand and where I can make a good living to take care of my family. I am looking welding and industrial systems technology. I am not able to drive so won't be able to drive to different job sites. My seizures that I may occasionally have are myoclonic seizures.I did have a couple of grandmal seizures within the last 2 years. However, haven't have any since last November. My myoclonic ones are also less frequent than they used to be. I am good at computers and pick up technology fairly easily. However, I do not have much experience with industrial systems. But, that is where college comes in. Has anyone here done a welding career or industrial systems technology and how would my kind of seizures affect my work. I know that they have lots of new safety equipment you can wear in welding. From what I understand you work a lot with computer types of systems in the industrial systems technology. Any information about these or similar careers would be appreciated. Thanks D
