I don't want to waste

Wed, 07/08/2015 - 01:43

My neurologist has switched me from Keppra XR to normal Keppra. I am done with that transition but still have over 300 tablets of 750mg Keppra XR. What should I do with them? The last thing I changed from was Vimpat but I was able to donate those to someone I else I new who had epilepsy and was taking Vimpat.

I really don't want to throw so much Keppra XR in the trash.

Thanks.

Do not throw any Rx's in the

Do not throw any Rx's in the trash or toilet. Although pharmacies and doctor offices deal with Rx's, they are not required and will refuse to accept returns of any kind and only have to pay to properly dispose of Rx's that expire on the shelf. This is so stupid like a bar refusing to pay to recycle glass and aluminum once you open it so most people either throw it in the trash or toilet. Rx's can pollute ground water and soil in land fill. It can also genetically modify organisms in the environment. Birth control Rx's can make fish sterile and deformed near large cities for example where sewage treatment plants discharge water into rivers and oceans. Most Rx's are not effected/cleaned/nutralized by sewage treatment plant technology. Here in Albuquerque you have to go to the city hall and there is a special office that deals with hand gun permits and properly disposing of Rx's for free of charge. I think a law should be passed that requires all pharmacies that dispense Rx's to accept returns and properly dispose of them for free.
