i don't know if i should tell them....

for the past couple of weeks i have had a long stretch of shift because my boss got sick so i had to pick up extra days (against my will might i add). its in the beginning of conference season so we are still trying to get things ironed out... i worked 7 nights my 6th night being a 13 hour shift with one day off then i am now on a 4 day stretch... on day one of the 4 day stretch i had a seizure at work. i know it was because i am overtired. i made a mistake for this conference we were getting ready for. i didn't realize it at the time but i just found out... its not a big deal we fixed it. it was just that the guests weren't supposed to pay for some meals and they ended up doing it and blah blah blah. easily difused. i told my other bosses that i put the wrong coupons in the envelopes. (which i did) i never told them that i didn't figure all this out that night because i couldn't think clearly because of my seizure... i am conscious during my seizures but am very zombie like and not alert for a long time before them. i don't know what they would do... i can' have them knock back ALL of my hours. i asked to be moved to day shifts and they are ignoring my requests... i don't know what they would do. i support myself... should i tell them about that seizure?

I dont know what to tell you. If I knew I would. I feel so for you and can really relate this happened to me recently from overwork. All I could do was hide. Valium,(diezepam)really really really helps me in situtions like this but my E sounds a lot different than yours. Mine is pretty JME with TC and other components throwm into the recepie.

Hi jacky, Before you tell anyone I suggest you read up on your US rights. http://www.epilepsy.com/epilepsy/rights_employment.html (Bottom line: The employer cannot legally fire you if you for havimg E) Given that situation and the fact that you need sleep, you may decide to tell them so they can alter your work schedule. That decision is entirely up to you. best wishes ~sol
