HOW LONG DO IT TAKES FOR THE SIDE EFFECT TO STARTS
Tue, 03/28/2006 - 13:49I JUST STARTED TAKING TRILEPTAL 300MG TWICE A DAY. SO FAR NOTHING REALLY IS HAPPENING COULD I GET SO LUCKY AND NOT HAVE ANY SIDE EFFECTS TO THE MEDICINE. I'M A LITTLE WORRIED ABOUT HAVING SIDE EFFECT.

You are very lucky if you do not have any side effects. My first aed was lamictal, I took my first pill on a Thursday and by Saturday I was already sick. But, that was an allergic reaction. MY second aed is Tegretol XR I started taking it on a Monday and didn't feel any side effects until Sunday. It took me about a month and a half to get my body used to the Tegretol. I am still on it and have been seizure free for almost 6 months. My bosses son takes Topomax and has no problems with side effects, so everybody is different. I hope you are one of the lucky ones and breeze through your new aed. Good Luck, Emily

WELL I JUST STARTED ON MONDAY TAKING TRILEPTAL 150MG TWICE A DAY FOR SIX DAYS AND AFTER THAT I WOULD TAKE 300MG TWICE A DAY. SO I'M HOPING IT WONT BOTHER ME THAT MUCH.

It is possible to have so few side effects that you may not notice them. Others may, but how you feel is more important. Sometimes one can feel so good because their previous meds produced worse side effects. It is something to discuss with the doctor. I would be cautious while enjoying life at the same time.
