How long from the time you were diagnosed to the time you found a medication or cocktail or whatever, that worked for you and controlled your seizures? If ever?

hi I,ll go first. actually I,ve never been seizure free. But for around the first 2 yrs. It was just automatically assumed that the sz. was caused by alcohol. The first seizure I had was similar to a stroke and I was "very" drunk when it happened .I did not wake up for 2 days and it left me disabled on the left side and a lot of assumptions were made. so any time I had a seizure and was drunk (every 2 wks) they just wrote me off. I had a seizure at work and with that they made me go to the doctors and I was put on dilantin but was still having them (sober) but mostly on weekends and I just played it off and did not go to doctors. I had 3 seizures in one day this summer and returned to a doctor and am currently on tegretol and trying to see if something works . Rick
