How do adults live with epilepsy that is not a constant problem?

Mon, 08/28/2006 - 11:53
I am a person who in 1998 was in a nursing home due to severe seizzures. I was in the nursing home for 18 months. I today live with my epilepsy and am on 6 different perscriptions, I get an aura about five minutes before having a seizure, and had been going about 2 months before having another seizure, but now am at 3 months. I constantly am waiting for the next shoe to drop, so to speak. Interested in any comments.

Find something else to concentrate on... Epilepsy shouldn't be the only thing you're looking for in your life! I understand the mystery of it, and the fear, I believe the more one is about the auras, maybe the more one can take the time to calm down, or try to alter the brainwaves' status before the major seizure comes on. This may be just a theory based on inner speculation, but it's worked for me a few times, I believe. I get major deja-vus, and spooky auras here and there. I'm aware of this, and I've developed a routine reaction to these experiences that leads to normality... Different strokes for different folks, I guess. Just a little input, from an open mind!! -S-
