Hi Bev, I am so sorry to hear of your struggles. I think you have taken a huge step in regaining some of your confidence by joining here. There are many wonderful, positive people that belong to this forum who understand what you are going through, and will encourage you daily in all that you do. Being afraid of having a seizure in public is a common fear for many of us. Some ideas that might help: 1. Surround yourself with positive, helpful and caring people 2. Take small steps, and congratulate you on each step you take 3. Remember that you are still the same wonderful person you were before the diagnosis 4. Have a friend take you on small outings (make sure the friend knows the first aid steps for seizures) 5. Wear a medical alert bracelet for those times you are alone 6. Don't be too hard on yourself 7. Remember that you are not on this earth to live up to other's expectations, your life is your own and you are an individual, even without the epilepsy I wish I had some really concrete answers for you, but I struggle with the same problem somewhat myself. I am making small steps everyday, and I am confident you will find a way to do the same. I am so glad you are on this forum - I know you will make caring friends here.
