Help finding out what this is

Fri, 07/24/2015 - 20:50

Hello, My name is Tom, I am 25 and have been dealing with seizures for 8 years now and have had almost no certain diagnosis. Its madning and its hard to keep my happiness up with all this occuring. I figured it might be nice to talk to some people who might understand where I am coming from.

I have two distinct kinds of seizures. The first can be discribed as one moment I am fully functional and alert and the next I colapse and am totally unresponsive. Its like I have fallen into a dream yet I can hear people around but I just cant move my body. The second seizure is a little more traditional. I start to get a weird sense around me which leads to full body convulsions, rythmic movement, and again i am not really coherent. The sense comes between a few minutes to a full day before my full body seizure occers.

I have been to several doctors and I have even been seen at the Mayo Clinic in Arizona. We have gone from thinking these are panic attacks, to thinking that its narcolepsy, to thinking I was making them up, to finally thinking its either epilepsy or Non epileptic seizures.

No medicine has helped thus far to a great extent and I just need to know I am not alone in this because its very tough to deal with.

Thank you for reading and I hope I can meet people who are like me in some way
