HELP! Do Seizures make you Dumb? Please anwer
Tue, 02/03/2015 - 00:46I've had epilepsy for 11 years, and each time I've had a Tonic- Clonic seizure, i've always felt less intelligent, or unable to focus for a vast majority of time.. or even remember things.
Do they affect IQ, Intelligence, or attention span? Or will all Tonic-Clonic damage be repaired through-out a week or so, and returning the person back to their normal self?
It's been about 6 days and I STILL am not acting normal. I can't read paragraphs, focus, and when I do I get hazy and dizzy. I'm dull and always tired now.. and I'm not myself. I feel like I am not acting like myself when people tlak to me.. sometimes I don't understand them or hear them or sometimes I don't even listen to them. I forget where I put things right after putting them down 10 seconds ago and I even forget what I wanted to say right after thinking about saying it.
Do DAMAGED brain cells get repaired?
OK I see you are still

OK I see you are still wanting information. After any seizure it takes time to get back to normal. It took more time for me after a convulsive seizure then it did a simple partial seizure. Now you seem to think that the average person knows how long it takes for cells to generate or regenerate. I am no scientist so I don't know. By damage Just what do you mean??? I haven't had a grand mal seizure since I went into status epilepticus having 40 convulsions an hour back in 1970. i've always felt less intelligent, or unable to focus for a vast majority of time.. As for your 11 years I hope this helps and you get the assistance you need.
