Have to change from Lamictal XR to Regular

Wed, 12/14/2016 - 20:33
Hello everyone! I'm hoping I can get some good advice for changing my Lamotrigine formulation. I have partial complex seizures and have been taking 600 mg Lamotrigine XR, 200 mg pills, at 10:00 pm for several years. Due to an insurance mix-up, I can no longer afford XR and found a program that only supplies regular Lamotrigine. My neuro has prescribed that I take 600 mg of the regular pills morning and evening. I'm concerned about the dizzy spells, which are the main reason we switched to XR. I'm planning on starting at a 12-hour dosing schedule, which would work perfectly with my usual 10 pm dose. I always eat breakfast and have another bite to eat during my morning break. If I have dizzy spells anyway (complete loss of equilibrium and double vision for at least 20 minutes) what would be the best way to try different times for the daytime dose? Btw, my pills are scored, but I've read that they shouldn't be split. Thanks!
