is hair dye safe?

Tue, 11/14/2006 - 01:12
I've often wondered if I am adding insult to injury by dying my hair every 5-6 weeks. I've read that there are concerns about links between certain cancers of the blood and dark hair dyes. Has anyone read about concerns about neurologic health and hair dyes? -Coopernicus

I'm not sure about the concerns per say but as far as the hair dye issue, I only do it twice a year and don't push it beyond that factor. Two reasons, one it'll burn out your hair too quickly and two, the smell of the dye is way too untolerable for me to handle. Besides, my husband wouldn't be able to put up with doing it on that type of time frame. ps. yes he helps me when I need to get the rough spots - what a guy eh? *grin*
