frustration

yes I had my first seizure at age 17 after a night of drinking and not getting adequate sleep. my sister, a few friends and I were walking to the pool to go swimming.  I am thankful it happened before we entered the pool. I woke up, terrified, thinking I got shot. the first image I remember was my sister and her best friend crying overtop of me. I was rushed to the hospital and stayed overnight, having multiple tests run (CT scan, MRI, EEG, EKG, etc) and they found nothing wrong with me. everything was "normal". I had my second seizure a couple months later after a night with similar events, drinking, lack of sleep. this time I didn't go to the hospital, but my family doctor, who prescribed me 500mg of keppra, to be taken twice a day. (after, of course, a few trial and error meds that had given me bad reactions) after the second episode, I was seizure free for five years. I had weened myself off of the keppra, as recommended by my neurologist, for about 6-7 months. two days ago, jan. 15th '15 I had my third seizure, after having it in my mind that it was just a phase and that I would most likely be fine after not being on meds for over half a year. I didn't even think about the seizures anymore. I was convinced it was a phase. now I'm back to square one, with no information given to me by any doctors or specialists. I had another CT scan, blood work, EKG. once again, they found nothing. I know that sometimes it can just happen, but I've never in my life had any answers and it's quite frustrating. the only similarity in my situations were lack of sleep. I have been working a lot lately, early hours in the morning, for over a week straight with no day off. I realize getting only 3-4 hours of sleep per night for days straight can be destructive but I didn't realize it could trigger this issue so easily. if anyone has anything to help ease my confusion, it would be so very much appreciated.

It baffles me to see people

It baffles me to see people thnking a seizure is aq phase and they will do nothng about it. As for the tests that were done both times--- blood tests do nthing. A CT will show nothing that is necessary. A EKG shows your heart beat and things going on with it. The EEG is used to get the electrical output comming from the brain. That is one of the main tests the neurologists use. The other test is a MRI which shows the brain from all angles. In it they will see anything wrong in your brain. There may have been a groth wrong or a leison in your brain. With me it showed scar tissue. The scar tissue was from a blow to the head. The abnormalities in mty EEG showed th neurologists where to look closer on the MRI. As for going some time without a seizure I went 3 years was still on medications but I had a seizure. Stress has never been a big factor in my seizures. On the other hand there are many other triggers listedunder triggers in the learn section. There are even triggers not listed and my trigger was one of them.Call your neurologist and discuss this issue with him. He may put you back on medications which has been done with many people and they get and stay seizure free. I ask you to use common sense. If you had a heart condition which was doing fine and you had something happen like your heart beat racing would you just say it is a phase and deal with it later????   Next time you may have no next time...... I say that because I know what it was like waking up in a hospital 3 days after going into status epilepticus only to go into it again. The doctors had done everything they could and I wasn't responding. The seizures had stopped but in reality I was in a state of flux... I had ben having 40 convulsive seizures an hour. I know it took 9 hours to get to the hospital. All I did know is that I blacked out during the 3rd seizure and came to 3 days later.
