Frustrating

Hello everyone, I have been having Simple Partial Seizures for the last couple of days. I just had one a couple of minutes ago. I'm at work. I get the deja vu feeling, the kinda numb feeling, face flushes, scared, sensory hallucinations (smell, hearing. Audio ones are almost like something from in the back of my mind. Hard to explain), tired afterwards. They only last a minute or two but I feel drained afterwards. I don't know what brought these on. Too much caffeine in the last week or so, not enough sleep, stress from work and school (online student via University of Phoenix Online) or a combination. I sometimes get them near that time of month, but I'm between cycles. It's just very frustrating. I decided to cut out the caffeine. My mom had to use my car today so she drove me to work. My dad drove me to a meeting and from last night. I met another AAer there who talked to me about seizures. I told him about this website so hopefully he'll join. Anyway, I just had to share.

I just had one this morning too. I have the big puppies and get all confused; as a result I am timid about writing people online at this point, but it is such a big pisser and I'm alone. Totally frustrating. I need to study for an exam and my brain isn't working. Good job for cutting out caffeine. I get a little defiant sometimes and that one I have chosen not to conquer for the time being. Takes some willpower. I also admire many of you who have fully accepted and are doing something about your epilepsy. I try my best to ignore it, but this morning didn't go so hot using that strategy. Thanks for sharing Amoreena. I needed someone to relate to just now. Caboose.

I understand the frustration you feel! I commend you on quitting caffeine....I'm addicted! I sure that the stress is contributing. I am also a student and whenever I have a big test or project coming up my seizures always seem to increase. Everyone tells me to just settle down and try not to get so stressed. Great advice, if I knew how to do that I wouldn't be having it!!! Keep your head up, it will get better....at least that's what everyone always tells me :) Kayla

It's always nice to read that others are going through the same things as I am. It's hard sometimes to explain to my husband what I am feeling and he doesn't quite understand. Anyway, I find that I have more seizure activity during the change of seasons. I also have SP seizures. My neuro said that it could have something to do with the pressure in the atmoshphere. I am also a caffeine addict and walk to the coffee pot every morning with my eyes closed! :) Good luck to everyone - it's really nice to share with all of you. Tina
