Frustrated

Sat, 12/30/2006 - 22:52
Hello I'm new to the group and I would like to just to just voice my opinion and see if anyone would agree. I'm very frustrated though. I've tried to leave several emails for other people and have had no responses(does not include you). I'm trying to get my group together and I feel that it is falling apart and I feel like I'm taking steps backwards instead of fowards. I feel alone again. All I want to do is hide my head in the sand. I hate it. Anytime that I talk about this I get frustrated and I shake and all I wanted to do is cry. WHY? I just hope the group turns itself around because it was a real help and I enjoyed it. Thanks for listening Lynn in Phoenix

Hi Lynn, I am sorry to hear that you are not receiving the support you are looking for right now. Everybody needs to vent, and it certainly feels better if it is to a willing ear. Sometimes others are not ready to hear the real "guts" of what is happening when somebody is struggling. I am not facing epilepsy myself, but with my son. I also find that people tend to not want to hear the bad stuff, just ask me if my son will outgrow it! I do not know the fears you must be facing, I can only suspect that you may feel out of control, or embarrassed that people may view you differently. One thing I can tell you is that I am sure you are as sharp as a tack, and trying to adjust to the fact that you do not function the way some of the "average" people out there do! I hope that you find some great support soon. I think that you need to give yourself a pat on the back for articulating what you need, and keep seeking it out. The person meant to help you find strength is out there! I will also say I would never not respond to your email. It is people like you who can help me try to understand what my son is going through, and what we need to work on to better inform society about epilepsy. Best of luck, Tresa (mama bear)
