falling asleep

I have TLE and have difficulty staying awake if I am reading, watching t.v., etc.... anything sedentary. I even start to fall asleep if I close my eyes for very long. I go easily into a trance if I let my eyes rest on one thing for very long. I figure it is a relaxation technique. When I do go to sleep at night, I can close my eyes and be out and dreaming within seconds. It always amazed my ex-husband. The thing is, it feels great to feel my brain slow down. I love that feeling of entering sleep. However, as weird as it sounds, I enjoy the feeling of the deja vu which signals a seizure. The fact that it is a seizure always upsets me, but on a physical level it does feel good for the short time that it lasts. Does anyone else have this ability/curse/whatever to fall asleep so quickly and actually feel your brain entering that place? How about dreaming within minutes of falling asleep?

Coop, Are you sure you do not have narcolepsy also? Might be worth looking into. I can say that while the seizures are concerning, and at some times upsetting, the feelings themselves are sometimes kinda cool, and always interesting to reflect upon later. You aren't nuts (at least not regarding that ;-) Sam
