Does anyone with E ever faint ? Is fainting a common symptom of E and if so, which type? Thanks

Hi, I have TLE and in the past I would have deja vu and then 'faint'. These were actually partial seizures.

Yeah, fainting can be a common aspect of partial complex seizures - while of course we all lose conciousness during a tonic clonic seizure, the blackout without any accompanying symptoms is a well-documented event. Of course, if you are fainting you should check with your doctor instead of automatically chalking it up to epilepsy since the heart-related reasons for fainting can be so serious...you would want to rule them out.

You might want to have some tests done to make sure you are fainting (aka syncope) versus having an atonic seizure. Syncope/fainting could be symptomtic of a more serious underlying condition. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Check out my chart of alternative epilepsy treatments.
