Exciting - Protective new appliance

I have a lot of Atonic Drops. The problem here is the injuries I get. Currently I'm nursing two cracked ribs in my back. And one fractured toe but that was from a complex partial apparently. Anyway I was talking to a resource type person and I mentioned I'm alone a lot, fall down a lot and on bad days I have to stay in a recliner or in bed, and I hated it. She asked me if I knew of an appliance you wear that signals an ambulance if you fall. I've worn life line but with Drops you don't get an aura, if I went status I couldn't use Lifeline either. It boiled down to I only used it if I fell, became conscious and found I was injured needed an ambulance but it didn't do a thing for status sz's when I'm alone. It's been a real fear of mine. Anyway she said you wear this small appliance and if you fall it signals 911 in our community. I told her that could be very beneficial for me but often I had a Drop and I'm okay. I also have a lot of Drops and didn't want the ambulance at my house all the time. She's arranging for me to try this and what we're planning is for the ambulance to wait a certain period of time, we're talking about around 10 minutes when I'm able to crawl to the phone. Instead of coming out every time, which I'd hate, they'll call me,check on my well being by phone. If they have any worries at all, they'll come and check me out. I'm alone a lot as my children are grown, my husband works full time but I thought about a few single mothers with small children who sz and fall, wonder what they can do. I think if this device does work, they and many of us would be good candidates. I wanted to share. I think I'm premature in sharing but I'm excited about this as I've tried so many things but nothing is the answer. The rep I talked to said many now are getting these units and having success. Well, we'll see. I couldn't wait to share this information. A local social service agency told me about this. I don't know the manufacturer's information but surely your neuro's will know about it and if so? I'm wondering why I haven't heard about it before. It's no secret I have a lot of Drops, too many injuries. If anyone does get one? I'd really like to know how it works for you. I THINK she said they're rentals. Also she said Medicare pays for it. Have you heard anything else on this? This might be something I would want to look into; I'm going to be alone while my husband is on his internship. Thanks! mcg
