Epilepsy - Keppra - Depression
Wed, 04/29/2015 - 20:03Hi, I'm new to this website and was wondering if anyone has had similiar experiences or any advice
I was diagnosed with partial complex epilepsy when i was 13 years old - im now 25.
I've been on Keppra and Lamictal since then which has controlled my seizures.
I have recently started dating a girl who is also on Keppra for epilepsy (what are the chances i know) and she told me she got really depressed when she started taking keppra and is now on anti-depressants. She described what she felt like which caused her to go on anti-depressants and i realised i have felt the same way for years and years but never thought anything of it after it being so long. This makes me want to look into anti-depressants but i'm hesitant as its been so long im not sure if this is just 'me' and not something that keppra has caused, as it is hard to remember what i felt like before epilepsy and drugs.
I was wondering if anyone else has had similar experiences with epilepsy, keppra and depression at all.

Keppra has made my emotions hard to control. I find myself crying a lot and wondering why I cannot control my tears.
