epilepsy & humor

Sun, 01/07/2007 - 20:23
Alright, so I have epilepsy, and I have lived with it through various degrees for the last 10+ years. I have had seizures during the most inappropriate and embarassing times. I often do very inappropriate things after my seizures. In order to keep my sanity and some preserverance of dignity I rely on humor in regards to this topic. I think, if it's 24-7 you gotta have some release!!! I realize that all of our situations are different and unique and I hope that you will not take offense, as I know you are a kick ass individual in your own right :) I am intrigued by the depiction of epilepsy and seizures in modern media. Below is a link to a story which has epilepsy as a subplot and was recently distributed in a young adult centered "lifestlye" magazine. Please note that this story contains some adult concent and is not necessarily medically accurate, but interesting none the less. xoxo http://www.viceland.com/int/v13n12/htdocs/mister1.php?country=us
