Epilepsy and work

Sat, 08/13/2016 - 05:29
I am 22 years old and got diagnosed with epilepsy last year. I haven't had a lot of trouble and my seizures have been controlled very well. Somebody recently said to me that I would become unemployable if I took too much time off work because of this. I wrote a blog post about how people with epilepsy are not unemployable and if anything, the complete opposite. Just wanted to share this with everybody. https://cpaige2.wordpress.com/2016/08/13/having-epilepsy-wont-stop-me/ Feel free to leave comments at the bottom of the blog.

My Seizure occurred while I

My Seizure occurred while I was at work by myself and was caught on camera. I told my boss about it as soon as I figured out that it happened, which took me looking at the camera footage. Not once did anybody tell me that I am now unemployable and if they had I would've raised he'll. I went to the emergency room the day it happened and got a prescription and just 2 days later I was back at work for a 12 hour shift by myself. This condition does not make a person unemployable, it simply requires some support from employers.
