Epilepsy and PNES??

Fri, 07/01/2016 - 21:24
Hello, my name is Shiloh, I am 19 years old and I have been having seizures for about a year and 7 months now. Today, I was in to see my neurologist again and I was told that I not only had abnormalities in my EEG, meaning that I have epileptic seizures, but that I also have PNES (Psychogenic nonepileptic seizures.) I have been searching high and low on the internet for someone that was diagnosed with both just as I was. Is there anyone in this community that shares both of my diagnoses? Is this rare for a person to have both rather than one or the other? How often is it that this occurs? Are there any statistics regarding the prevalence of this? Any help would be much appreciated, wondering if I'm not alone in having both epileptic and nonepileptic seizures.
