Hello,
I have had panic attacks for the past 16 years. I do not have epilepsy but I have noticed that medication that is intended for panic attacks is also prescribed for epilepsy, so I am trying to find the connection. I am wondering if the cause of epilepsy is the same cause of panic attacks. My panic attacks have ruled my life. I used to self medicate with alcohol but that only made things worst in the long run. I am now on Clonazepam but I do not like the dependence or the side affects (extreme fatigue, confusion, memory loss, etc.)
Maybe some of us can work together in finding the relation between the two.

Hi, I have been awake since 4.30am this morning. woken by my partner who has had yet another panic attack in the middle of the night. He has been suffering from Panic Attacks since he was 18yrs old (now 42yrs old). He seemed to "cope" with them for years. Mornings always seem to be the worst ones. Over the last few years though they brought on a seizure and up to now he has had 3 seizures caused with his Panic attacks. Now he can't "cope" with Panic attacks for fear of having a seizure. So, like many of you say it is a vicious circle. My heart goes out to him because I love him and hate to see him suffering and living with this untreatable illness, which in my opinion has not been enough research. I really feel for all of you. I did not know others suffered with Panic attacks and seizures. I really do beleive that stress has a massive impact on causing Panic attacks. My partner has tried all sorts of therapies but nothing seems to work. He is even scared of going to work now. I hope you all do not mind me posting a comment. Take care everyone.
