Epilepsy and pain relief

Sun, 12/04/2016 - 11:47
Hi everybody, I'm new to this so I'm hoping I'm in the right place for some help. I was diagnosed with epilepsy when I was 19 (I'm 26 now) and I also have arthritis. I'm really struggling with my joints and it has got to the point where my boyfriend has to shower me, dry and straighten my hair, dress me, cook my meals, cut my food up, I walk with crutches etc. Anyway, basically, I'm in a hell of a lot of pain. All the specialists I am seeing will only prescribe me codeine and nothing stronger even though they do not work in the slightest. The reason being that any painkillers stronger than codeine will give me seizures... is this true? Or does anybody have any other suggestions? Because I honestly can't carry on in this much pain with nothing to help ease it. I've got an appointment on Tuesday and would like to be able to go with some suggestions if possible. Sorry for the doom and gloom but I'm at a bit of a loss.
