Epilepsy and the Flu

I am new here. I hope I am posting this in the right place.
Last week I came down with a really bad cold virus and my partial seizures (usually about 5-10 /week at night) grew to about 20-50/during the day. This has happened before when I have been sick but never this bad. Typically I live a very "normal" life but since I came down with this virus I have been bedridden. My doc said to wait it out bc the seizures will last about 5-8 days after the virus is gone but I am just exhausted. Has this this happened to anyone before?
