Epilepsy and Crohn's Disease linked?
Mon, 11/14/2016 - 23:08Diagnosed with epilepsy 5 years ago at age 32 and diagnosed with Crohn's Disease last month. Anybody think they know whether or not they're related or are they both happening independent of each other. I want to know if I am the only one with both diseases. Thank you.

Hey Zach! I'm 32 and I've had seizures for almost 22 years now. I've had so many medication problems I couldn't remember them all. One of the worst is maybe Crohn's disease, maybe a side effect of my medicine for years or I just have a hard time going to the bathroom doing number 2. It feels like I'm giving birth each time I take a crap and hurts so much. At least I've gotten use to it over the years. None of my doctors have ever helped me about the side effects so who knows. lol

It is doubtful that there is a connection Crohn's disease is a type of inflammatory bowel disease that may affect any part of the gastrointestinal tract from mouth to anus.. Epilepsy is a seizure disorder stemming from the central nervous system... They can happen independentlyJust as my epilepsy and A-fib.. One is heart related the other is brain related.
