I'm not sure why they call it Adult-onset epilepsy. But the way your family is responding should not to be to question as to how it happened. They have to respect that you have epilepsy and ask if there is anything they can help you with. Your epilepsy is not a definition of who you are! You are still the same bright healthy person who you were all your life! You may see some stigmatisation. But if you assert yourself and tell people you are uncomfortable with it they may respect you more. On the meds: you might want to ask your doctor what is the minimum level of meds you can take before they are out of therapeutic range. Sometimes having too much medication in your system can provoke seizures (I've had it happen!). I hope you get better soon!

You're welcome. I find if I'm a bit confused or in distress I can try to relax and listen to some music. I also write my feelings in a personal diary. It clears my mind in preparation for a new day. It will be something you can get over with time. From what you say, it sounds like your family is expressing concern for you. I hope all goes well.
