Eating Disorder

Mon, 06/06/2016 - 06:55
Hi there! I'm a 22 year old female and I've been dealing with grand mal seizures since the age of 3, I'm currently in the brain surgery track because all other options have unfortunately failed. The past year I've developed Anorexia Nervosa and with decreasing my calorie intake, my seizures became less prominent and I couldn't be happier. Now I'm on the waiting-list for treatment my neurologist explained that when I will start eating normal amounts again my seizures will increase because right now my brain just doesn't get enough glucose to function. And if your brain doesn't function it can't elicit seizures, some kind of rebound effect. But because I'm already extremely terrified of gaining weight in the first place, an increasing amount of seizures makes things even worse and more complex. I would really like to get in contact with someone who have dealt with an Eating Disorder AND Epilepsy in the past. It would mean the world to me to get some understanding. Love, Linda
