It's not easy at times to be the partner/spouse/parent of people with epilepsy- is it? I don't have too much Help. I did come on here struggling right now with my own spouse who has lots of side effects from the meds that really sometimes seem to take her into a totally different frame of mind where it's almost like I'm married to a totally different person. I'm ok with the physical issues of epilepsy, but not prepared to understand all the difficulties mentally that can happen to the patient and their family. Also, my 8 year old daughter just found out she may have epilepsy. She had a seizure at school that was undocumented by other adults and also undocumented from a healthcare standpoint... it has me worried and I am sort of in the dark as to who to turn to. The pediatric neurologist has a follow-up with us in 4 months. I'm tired of dealing with this-and want a healthy family. But I have the family I do- and I struggle with problems myself (depression) so I can't point fingers as to what is really happening when my own mental state is rough. Praying for those who are in the same boat. Realizing that we are not all in this alone.
