Memory at Work Bad

I'm trying to respond to the above mentioned topic but I'm new to this and somehow I started a new discussion!Anyway, I'm wondering if your memory loss is due to the Keppra as opposed to the surgery. I was on 2000mg and my short term memory is completely shot. Since I'm a speech therapist and try to help people with memory issues - this is not a great thing! I also walk around like a zombie. So my neuro lowered the Keppra to 1750 and added Lamacil. No change in side effects. Needless to say I'm going for a second opinion next week. I had to take a medical leave from work because of the drug side effects. So, anyway, it's something to consider.I wish you well.Maureen

Hi there speechlady. yes I will never go any higher than 1000mg on Keppra. I take only now 500mg. My DR. said she will never go any higher for anyone because they are then being treated like a guinie pig. So try to get cut down a bit. Ever sinse I've been on this my seizures have been great had like only 1. They other thing to is I'm only working parttime and that makes a big difference. I went to the Comprehensive Epilepsy Center at NYU yesterday and they were great. They immediately decreased the Keppra and will continue to do so in increments. In about 4 weeks I will go into their video unit and should get a lot more info regarding my seizures.

Hi there yes I'm on keppra to, have noticed that it does great on my seizures. Now memory forget it I forget things at work what has to be done and also how to do the same job the following day. It's just that I forget on how I did all of it again and always asking do I do this that etc. Now I'm only on 1000mg of keppra and no higher I will go because of things I've heard of others going threw all of the troubles with it. Now with this pill my memory is bad and also think your always being talked about at work because of your memory. People do say things my DR. said the drug can make you feel like that at times please let me know how you think about this drug. Limeridge
