Epilepsy and pregnancy

I am writing this to gain some knowledge on the subject of epilepsy and pregnancy I've been with my wife 10 years married 1 year she is 27 and has epilepsy
ive known about this our whole relationship but getting older I did bring up the subject of having a child and basically I think she kinda pushed it off her plate because she is afraid of complications and birth defects.
Can someone that has had a child with epilepsy what is your story? What did you go through? Even husbands/partners what was your experience? Any knowledge is better then nothing
