Child is having VEEG, Seizure is undetectable to parent

Sun, 09/20/2009 - 16:23

My child suffered a fractured skull nearly two years ago. My child is very smart and physically intune. E told the neurologist that something was occuring in her head and wanted to know when it was going to stop. The Neuro told us an EEG wouldn't show anything, but he'd do it. It showed generalized seizures a year ago.

This past July E began telling me daily of the numerous headaches and stomachaches she was experiencing. Two weeks ago, we got a second opinion: EEG showed complex partial seizures.  I rely on E to notify me of the oncoming seizure because this seizure type is undetectable to me.

How will this VEEG work if I can't see E is having a seizure?

TIA (thanks in advance)
