Unique, I wish you well as you start down this road! I can understand that it is scary. My daughter was diagnosed at 15, after her brother had been having seizures since he was 7. She was pretty scared as well. Keeping a positive attitude, going out there and doing all that you can, the BEST that you can will show people to treat you with respect. Did you check the teen section here? It might help as well. Another good resource is http://www.epilepsy.ca/eng/mainSet.html Hang in there....it is tough to be a teen without the diagnosis, but you can do great things! Have you seen Chandra Gunn, the goalie on Team USA for Hockey? She has epilepsy, it has not stopped her! Gin

Hi unique. I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis. What type of seizures are you having? This site is the best for information and for finding people who have so much in common and many the same age as you. It would probably help your family and friends too, the more they understand the more they will see that they should treat you the same as before. The only diference would be that they will know how to help you. It's good that this has been caught so early so you can get rolling on a treatment plan, as many others here I was'nt diagnosed until I was about 25. Just thought I was nuts or something. You take care and stick with us, we can help answer any questions and concerns you may have. Smiles to you! Linda
