Fri, 03/09/2012 - 13:55

hey there i was wondering if anyone knows how they feel or has any memory of having a seizure. i know i have had some while i would just be lying there half asleep id notice i was a chewing having deja vu and cold sweats. but ive heard you can be like half asleep having a seizure but you could be acting out your dream or what not. or has anyone that sleeps next to you ever describe wat you were doing during sleep(id ask my ex girlfriend but id rather not talk to her) i get simple partial seizures so if you have other seizures i could understand how they would differ. anyways i was just looking for someone elses perspective i would appreciate it, thanks

Hey JimmieD. I am a 40 yr. old woman who started having seizures 2 years ago. I have all my seizures only when I am sleeping, be it daytime sleep or nighttime sleep. I was never diagnosed as to what type of seizures I have or why I am having them. After doing my own research, I think I have Nocturnal Seizure Disorder, this is when seizures only happen when the person is asleep. Or I might have Abdominal Epilepsy. This is a series of conditions that affect the digestive tract. Months before my first seizure I would wake up 5-10 times a month feeling sick and nauseated like I had a stomach flu, but I would still be hungry and I would throw up alot. I am taking Phenytoin 100 mg 2xaday, but only take it 1xaday. I also take an anxiety pill for the nausea. I am told I have Grand Mal seizures cuz my face and lips turn blue and I stop breathing. After a seizure I have peed pants, weak legs, tongue bitten and have an extreme headache and extreme nausea. I get auras frequently, the thought aura, where the thought you're going to have a seizure pops in my head, and I have a seizure that night or the icky feeling aura, where a wave of heat comes over me and travels from my head down my body. My hearing goes dim and I get blurry vision and it goes tunnel vision. I don't have a seizure after this aura. Well that is all I can think of. Hope this helps you.

Peace
