Seizure cat???

I thouhgt it was only dogs who did this!! I live alone and need quietness and peace for these terrible morning headaches! and nite time seizures! my daughter begged me to save a cat from the shelter since I was going to get a pet! so I adopted a seven week old kitten. This cat and I have gotten to know each other quiet well. She use to sleep in my lap but now that she is grown up she has her own bed. But when I have these seizure headaches she is right back in my lap! yesterday I needed to get to the doctors about 2 hours away but i was up worried about the drive!! and wondering if I should get help to get there! My head was pounding and that auro sensation was here! but my cat jumped up on my lap and gently took both of her paws and hung onto my forearm! And looked at me like to say you have to do something! I knew then to call for a ride so I didnt have to chance it on the road. This cat may have save my life or someone elses! I am not ready to do long driving! And this cat picked up on my worries. It has happened too often when I have a seizure of headache seizure she is right there on top of me trying to comfort me! I have a seizure cat!!

Glad to hear of your cat! The bonds between pets and people are so important! I hope you also have a chance to talk to your doctor about driving and seizures and have checked out the rules for driving in your area! Be safe!

Seizure Cat? Yes she is a comfort to me!! Maybe cause we are the only ones here! So she picks up on me! And thank you on the driving advice. I have drivers and just made a friend who will drive me everywhere I want to go! I am having an MRI done soon as I was just diagnosed with left lobe temporal epilepsy from the EEG. After all these years I was told I had psuedo epilepsy and childhood epilepsy. Im kinda scared but my neurologist told me we wont get so excited about it since I have been seizing for 30 years now. And this must of been there all the time! but I will be quite concerned till the brain MRI is done. Then after that is done I want to get my knee fixed as I feel at work and broke it. Again thank you for your driving concerns.

There was a recent eisode on Animal Planet about a woman with seizure disorder...she felt an aura coming on and she had companpy and didn't want to embarass her kids or something of the like, so went out on the front porch courch to be alone awhile. Now her cat, who was very attentive to her, knew something was wrong, and yowled and caterwauled at the window to the porch until someone went to investigate and of course found her in a grand mal seizure . So unfortunately while her efforts to go undetected did not work, from there on out she had her very own 'service cat'. It was a very heart warming story. :) "If you can laugh at it you can survive it'---Bill Cosby Change is inevitable. Stress need not be... Be well! SpaZnurse
