Right Hippocampus removal bad idea?

Tue, 09/08/2015 - 19:39

Hi I am Alessandra and I am looking to get surgery for my epilepsy. One doctor suggested laser surgery while another suggesteted I be opened & a surgeon will remove my entire Right Hippocampus. That doesn't sound so good, I know the right hippocampus is responsible for memory & spatial visualization.

Can anyone help me on what to do.

Thank you!

Alessandra

Hi, both are surgeons. One of the surgeons did surgery on my when I was little so he knows my head more, but he wants to take out my right hippocampus which is strange. He keeps saying, "nah don't worry about it," when I ask about risks. The other one is new, he wants to do laser, he's done several before. I'm just worried about taking my right hippocampus out.
