Hello. The only thing you and your boyfriend can look into is Medicaid from your home state. I live in Louisiana and can't really get help from Medicaid because according to my states law, it is only for people who are disabled. I am not disabled according to the state even though I have a seizure disorder.

In a state like Minnesota, Medicaid is for people who cannot afford their medical bills because I guess MN is a more richer state than LA is.

The only help I can get from Medicaid is procedures having to with woman's issues, like pregnancy tests, mammograms, etc. But my boyfriend's stepmom said that if I ever had a medical issue, like I needed surgery and could not pay for it on my own, then Medicaid would help.

I go to a charity hospital for dr. appts. because I have no medical insurance and have no money to pay for dr. appts., but they still charge for the dr. visit. Right now my bill at that hospital might be close to $200 but I have no money to pay it.

Four years ago in 2009 when I first started to have seizures only in my sleep, my boyfriend called the ambulance to take me to the hospital. The bill I got back later was over $1000 something. Plus I have other medical bills I can't pay. So your boyfriend is not the only one with medical bills he can't pay and which seems to be getting higher.

The only thing I can tell you is to look into how your state can help your boyfriend with his medical bills and if there is any money set aside for people in his situation who need help with medical bills.

I hope this helped you. Good luck.
