Phenytoin interactions with other AEDs

Wed, 05/06/2009 - 04:52

I hope you do not mind my intruding into the central parts of the site but on the page of info re drug interactions Phenytoin is listed as being a drug that increases levels of Lamotrigine when taken concurrently.  I beg to differ, not least from personal experience.  Once taking 400mg/d each, of both drugs, with imperfect control of my TLE, I am now taking 200mg/d of Lamictal alone, with no seizures (and driving a car, no less).  My reading on the subject, elsewhere, supports this.

Otherwise I find the site impressive in its coverage, interest and the help it gives to all involved in the subject of epilepsy.  Keep up the good work.

Chris

That is great for your success!

Everyone's personal experience on this program has made the wheel turn.  I find  doctors want to drug you or not give you enough and I like to experiment on just small enough dosages to do the trick.

It is great you can drive!

Thank you for your note!
